On January 9, 1932, archaeologist Alfonso Caso, his wife, María Lombardo and a small group of archaeologists and workers, made one of the most important discoveries of Mexican Archaeology insofar as it relates to a finding of gold in quantity and quality.

The San Pablo Academic and Cultural Center is located in the heart of the historic center of the city of Oaxaca in what was part of the former convent of San Pablo, colonial building which dates from the 16th century, but by the telluric movements constantly wagging Oaxaca has had many modifications.

The purpose of the Cultural Center is "valuing the multicultural, mostly indigenous, heritage of Oaxaca and Mexico".

The Sierra Norte, known as La Sierra Juarez, is a mountain range that runs parallel to the Gulf of Mexico, from the State of Nuevo Leon and as it narrows forms the waist of the nation in Oaxaca, almost joins with the Sierra Sur, mountain chain which runs down from Alaska parallel to the Pacific Ocean and in Oaxaca is called "Mixtec knot".

One of the oldest houses of culture in the country. It was founded in the year of 1971. It is located in the former convent of our Lady of the seven princes or Los Angeles.
