In the year 2007 was inaugurated the Textile Museum of Oaxaca in what was part of the former convent of San Pablo dating back to the 16th century, but which suffered severe and consecutive damage by earthquakes that shake the city.
The Museum aims to promote and disseminate the millenary textile tradition of the State as well as to encourage the search for new creative proposals in the textiles.
It has six collections of a great historical and artistic value, in addition to different cultural and academic activities for the benefit of the local community, tourists and artists from around the world.
