The San Pablo Academic and Cultural Center is located in the heart of the historic center of the city of Oaxaca in what was part of the former convent of San Pablo, colonial building which dates from the 16th century, but by the telluric movements constantly wagging Oaxaca has had many modifications.

 

The purpose of the Cultural Center is "valuing the multicultural, mostly indigenous, heritage of Oaxaca and Mexico".

Yo nací en Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca. Tengo siete años de vivir en Santa María, California. Yo me vine buscando mejores oportunidades, como trabajo y estudio. Los retos más difíciles eran el idioma...pero ahora ya no, ahora casi lo domino. Sigo estudiando el ingles bien y estoy estudiando liderazgo para la comunidad.


Mi futuro aquí es llegar a tener un estudio, ahorita todavía no lo tengo en mente, pero quiero superarme mas y asegurar el futuro de mis hijos. Lo más difícil para mí aquí es trabajar y atender a los niños. Mi cultura oaxaqueña me ayuda para tener unida siempre a mi familia y que no se pierda la costumbre de comer juntos y convivir juntos. Mantener las tradiciones como el de los días festivos de allá. Por ahora, pienso quedarme aquí por el estudio  de mis hijos.
